The founding partner, Charlotte, brings a rich, bicoastal educational background, having studied in New York, Oregon, and California. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and is on track to earn her Juris Doctor (J.D.) in the near future. This unique combination of academic achievement and practical insight gives Deering Crest Law a depth of perspective rarely found in boutique legal practices. Charlotte Deering is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at the Colleges of Law in Ventura, California, with an expected graduation in December of 2027. She hopes to complete the bar Exam in February 2028. Her legal education builds upon an extensive academic background in research, teaching, and a commitment to improving accessibility in communication and law.

Charlotte earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Oregon in just two and a half years, graduating with a 4.05 GPA. Her dissertation, "Vocational Rehabilitation Online: How State and Federal Government Information Can Empower the Deaf and Hard of Hearing," reflects her dedication to exploring how information access can shape lives. She also holds a Master of Science in Communication and Media Technologies and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Advertising and Public Relations and in Political Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

 

Her scholarly work has been presented at conferences in Paris, New Orleans, Montreal, and at the United Nations. She has authored and co-authored publications on civic engagement, news media preferences, and online accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

At the Colleges of Law, Ventura Campus, Charlotte continues to expand her legal expertise while integrating her research background to approach estate planning with precision, depth, and a focus on clarity for all.
